When my elder son was a baby I was frustrated when the gorgeous European-made sleep sacks I’d found for him became too small well before we were done using sleep sacks. They say that necessity is the mother of invention, so after studying products, dusting off my sewing skills and drafting my own pattern, I got to work.

I sought to create sleep sacks featuring beautiful fabrics, organic cotton lining, luxe coziness with fluffy internal batting, and details that make life easier for caretakers of new babies. Sizing and patterning so that each sleep sack could be used for a year was a must. I am thrilled to have had the opportunity to bring better sleep to both babies and their families since 2013.

The best part of this work is hearing families describe how their Smidge sleep sacks have become an essential part of their sleep ritual with happy bedtimes and loads of sweet dreams. Second to that joy is the pleasure of working with beautiful fabrics that I carefully handpick from international and domestic sources.
